Буква ё в нике пользователя

Столкнулся с такой проблемой после перехода с 2.3 на 3.3.4 буква ё в логине не распознается и пользователи просто не могут войти у которых есть эта буква в логине, а таких не мало, как решить эту проблему?

Наверное, запретить логины не на латинице: "Можно использовать только латинские буквы, цифры и знак подчеркивания."
